~It's pay day.
~I don't have to work for the next two days
~Doc's eye is looking better.
~I'm only 2 weeks away from hugging my daughter!
I was a bit discouraged yesterday after Doc's appointment. The ulcer was not showing signs of healing and, in fact, had progressed to the stage where it was going deeper. Per my vet and by what I'd read on the internet, these type of deep ulcers can take months to heal and often need surgical intervention. I don't want Doc who is 14 years old to go through a big surgical procedure and the vet agrees. I'm continuing the drops per usual and we'll check him again the week of Thanksgiving. I can see the ulcer with my naked eye and it looks like a little crater. The good news is that there is no bulging which could signal a rupture of the descemetocele in the eye and cause the eye ball to collapse. We figure the worse that could happen would be that Doc could eventually lose the eye. Though that doesn't sound very nice, it is something that he would easily adapt to. My main goal for my little geriatric friend is to keep him happy and comfortable. Today, the eye looks okay and there is even less redness and "goopiness". I figure by the end of all this, I can get my honorary vet tech license. :(
We've got cool, crisp weather and it is so refreshing. We Floridians just ooh and ahh over temps in the 50's and low 60's. And then when it gets in the low 40's and high 30's, we think we're sorely put upon to have "such cold weather". When I think of growing up in upstate New York to zero weather, I wonder how I survived!
My little grandson Jonathan turned 5 yesterday. I was living in Tennessee near them when he was born. While his mommy and daddy were at the hospital, I was at their house with my other 4 grandchildren. He is such a cutie!

Well, I've got errands to run and things to do, so I'm off. Take care and have a great weekend!

Hi Melanie,
I hope you enjoy those 2 days off, weekends are my favourite. I really hope Doc Boy's eye can recover I feel so sad for him.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs Suzanne.
Oh happy birthday Jonathan! So precious at that age - still a baby in our eyes but so grown up in theirs! LOL
Glad you're keeping on top of Doc's eye Melanie - it is a worry isn't it? Enjoy your days off.
Blessings!
